The central part of the icon represents saint prince Alexander Nevsky on a horseback on the bank of the Klyazma river against the background of the town of Vladimir. To his right are prince Andrei Bogolyubsky and martyr Abramius, to his left are princes Georgiy Vsevolodovitch and Gleb Andreevitch. In the upper left corner the angels are honoring the icon of Our Lady of Vladimir.
