The Savior Enthroned is a central icon of the Deesis row. Jesus is portrayed seated on a throne. He is blessing with his right hand and holds a gospel with his left. The color solution of the Deesis row is based on the typical Novgorodian three-color scheme – red, green and yellow. The images are noted for internal expression, though more powerful shapes gave way to slim proportions.
