One of many iconographic variants of the Mother of God Hodegetria – Our Lady of Tikhvin. One of miraculously appearing icons of the Mother of God venerated by Russians. The distinctive feature of the icon is a visible back side of the right foot of the Child. The background and margins of the icon are covered with a basma case.
