John the Baptist

Origin: From the hetorodox church of Nicholas the Wonderworker in Pskov

Material: Wood, canvas, tempera

Setting's material: Silver , basma

Dimensions:  height 85 cm, width 70 cm

Waist-length depiction of John the Baptist attired in the mantle, his right hand raised in a gesture of blessing while his left hand is holding a scroll and the holy spear with the cross. The borders show the figures of reverend John the Climacus and Theodore Stratelates.
