Andrew of Crete and Mary of Egypt, Sts, in prayer to the image of Our Lady of the Sign

Date: XVII century. Second half of the 17th century

Origin: From the Voskresensky Kirillo-Novoezersky monastery, island Krasniy in the Belozersky district, Novgorodskaya region (now island Ognenniy near the village of Karl Liebknecht, Belozersky district, Vologodskaya region). The monastery was founded in 1517 by Venerable Cyril Beliy of Novoezersk (+1532).

Material: Wood, tempera

Dimensions:  height 31 cm, width 27,7 cm

Saints Andrew of Crete and Mary of Egypt are depicted full-length in a three quarter turn. In the upper part of the icon is shown the image of Our Lady of the Sign.

Was deposited in 1928.
