Two leaves of the Sanctuary Doors.

In the upper part of the Sanctuary Doors is represented the scene of Annunciation depicting the Mother of God seated on the throne with Her right hand raised up, turning to archangel Gabriel. Below are shown the figures of the saints Basil the Great (dressed in phelonion-polystaurion decorated with the crosses) and John the “Goldenmouth” (dressed in sakkos) in a three quarter turn holding the unfolded scrolls with the liturgical texts.
