Leontius of Rostov

Origin: From the church commemorating the Presentation in the Temple in Rostov.

Dimensions:  height 96 cm, width 64 cm

Leontius, the bishop of Rostov is depicted full-length with his hands spread apart. His right hand is blessing and his left hand covered with a liturgical cloth is holding a Gospel book in the precious casing. The saint is represented in full Episcopal vestment: he is wearing a rosy under-tunic, epitrachelion and palitza decorated with the multicolored gems and pearls, green polystaurion, white omophorion and white klobuk.
