Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker

Iconography:  Nicholas of Zaraysk, St.

Date: XVI century. First half of the XVIth century

Origin: was removed from the Voskresenskaya church in the village of Verkhniye Matigory, Kholmogorsky district, Archangelskaya region (1686-1694)

Material: Wood, levkas, tempera

Dimensions:  height 42,5 cm, width 32,5 cm

Saint Nicholas attired as a bishop is depicted full-length with his hands spread apart. His right hand is blessing nd his left hand is holding a closed Gospel book.
