In the upper part of the icon, Jesus Christ, dressed in a white vestment, is shown standing on the mountain peak against the dark-blue circle of glory and octangular red star symbolizing the Divine Light. To his right and left, on ledges of the hill stand prophets Elijah and Moses, supported by angels, who brought them for the conversation with the Savior. In the bottom part of the icon, by the base of rocky hills stand the apostles. Their poses represent the state of their minds. Peter looks at the shining Christ in a standing pose, Jacob prostrates himself covering his eyes with hands from the blinding light, John, as the youngest and impressionable, is falling head downwards.

Christ is shown against a nimbus, composed of several circles, transitioning from dark-green to light and almost white colors. The Old Testament prophets Moses and Elijah are shown standing on either side of Christ.

The figure of Christ is depicted standing on the middle top of a rocky landscape. He is dressed in white clothes with golden assist holding a scroll in his hand. Christ is surrounded by a double blue round halo (“glory”) inside which is a white, with golden fragments, six-pointed sharp-cornered star. On either side of Christ, on side tops stand the prophet Elijah (left) and Moses with the table of commandments in his hands (right). In the top corners of the icon are the angels carrying the prophets in the clouds. To the left and right, against the caves, are the groups of “ascending” and “descending” apostles with Christ. Vladimir icon of the Mother of God with the Selected Saints
Apparently, this icon is a copy of the venerated relic of the Rostov Cathedral. The center of the upper border shows the scene of Transfiguration of Our Lord and at its sides are the waist-length depictions of bowing archangels Michael and Gabriel in the aureoles. On the right and on the left borders are shown the figures of the selected saints according to the hierarchy.There are prophet John the Forerunner and apostle Paul, apostles Peter and John the Theologian, saints Nicholas and Alexis, saint warriors Theodore of Tyre and Theodore Stratelates, martyresses Tatiana and Anastasia.
